This jacquard blanket is inspired by the essence of Hygge — the Nordic art of comfort and slowing down. With its soft beige tones and modern striped design, it brings a sense of calm, natural warmth, and effortless simplicity into any living space. The understated color palette creates a soothing atmosphere, while the clean lines reflect the Scandinavian belief that less is more.

Crafted from a premium cotton blend with an exceptionally soft feel, it invites you to relax and unwind. Generously cozy yet easy to care for, it is machine washable and dryer-friendly — a timeless companion for quiet moments, everyday comfort, and interiors shaped by serenity and balance.

Certified by OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 which ensures that the blanket contains no chemicals harmful to humans or animals.

From the mid-2010s onward, a Danish way of life began to capture the world’s imagination: hygge. More than merely an interior design trend, it stood for warmth, comfort, and well-being — a counterpoint to an increasingly hectic and digitalized world. Soft colors, candlelight, natural materials such as wood and wool, and cozy textiles turned homes into places of retreat. Blankets, in particular, became more than accessories; they were symbols — a tangible sense of security that could be wrapped around one’s shoulders.

A Society in Transition

The 2010s were shaped by profound upheaval. The refugee crisis of 2015 confronted Europe with immense challenges. Thousands of displaced people sought protection and shelter, yet the question of how to respond divided international politics. Donald Trump’s election in 2016 marked a turning point on the global stage. At the same time, social media, smartphones, and rapid digitalization transformed everyday life faster than ever before. In this atmosphere of uncertainty, hygge gained new significance — and with it, the desire for products that conveyed safety, warmth, and a sense of normality.

IBENA Between Setbacks and Renewal

For IBENA, too, the 2010s were a decade marked by disruption as well as courageous new beginnings. After a major fire in 2010 at the Industriestraße site, the company sold parts of its premises to the city of Bocholt in 2014. What initially appeared to be a loss became a turning point: these setbacks forced the company to rethink long-established structures and pursue new paths.

From 2015 onward, IBENA consistently realigned its focus. In 2017, a dedicated licensing department was established, professionalizing partnerships with well-known brands and opening up new business opportunities — most notably the “LOOKS by Wolfgang Joop” license, which enabled cooperation with an internationally celebrated designer. At the same time, the company invested in online distribution, which was significantly expanded from 2018 onward — just in time, as it would soon become clear.

Thus, a phase of uncertainty became a path of renewal. IBENA transformed setbacks into opportunities and laid the foundation for a future in which tradition, brand strength, and digital presence would go hand in hand.
